I don’t really have a lot to report today– a particularly interesting round of Europa Universalis 3 has been eating up most of my free time– so I’m here to make one of the posts that our dear Mister Adequate usually makes around these parts and ask: what will you be playing this weekend?
As for myself, well– the Paradox bug has bit me nice and deep and I keep having to scratch the resulting itch, so I’m guessing there will continue to be a lot of EU3 and possibly some Darkest Hour as well. I’m also still slowly but surely working on Final Fantasy 2– although I keep getting sidelined from it by delicious strategy games– and there are a couple of indie games I’ve been having fun messing with, as well (The Binding of Isaac and Aquaria, in this case.)
Speaking of indie games, I’d also like to bring your attention to a new indie-bundle-type site that has popped up, called The Indie Gala. I’ve refrained from buying the package there yet– although I’m a sucker for cheap games so that may change quickly once my latest paycheck is direct deposited– but I figured I’d get the word out!
What are you guys doing this weekend?
I’ll be playing Get Doped Up On Nyquil And Sleep A Lot.
There’s no multiplayer component, and the singleplayer storyline is literally a snoozefest.
If I could “Like” this comment, well– I would.
I hope you feel better soon!
A Good Comment.
Do feel better soon!
Well now that I’ve finished my game of Darkest Hour and the whole world is under benevolent Japanese rule (I’m not being sarcastic, I took the democracy path and in KR if Japan does that they have like an 80% chance of being the most open, democratic country in the world because everyone else goes commie or fascist at the drop of a hat) I’m kind of at a loss. There’s Skyrim, of course, but that’s on the 360. For the PC? I’ll have to find something!
When all else fails, there’s always SimCity. Or EU3!
Me? It will be all about fighting the temptation to check my inbox for my TOR early access invite date since they won’t be going out until Monday at the earliest.
Oh god the anticpation…IT BUUUUUURNSSSSSS!
I’ve got coworkers trying to talk me into getting this game and joining their guild. The truth is that I’m pretty much MMO’d out at this point, but I dunno, they’re pretty persistent…
I was pretty burnt out on MMOs myself, I think I’ve logged maybe a couple of weeks total on WoW. I play Everquest 2 now but that’s only because a…close friend of mine plays it and I play with her. Then I got into the Star Wars open beta weekend and the last beta weekend after that. It breathed new life into the genre for me and it being Star Wars didn’t hurt.
For me it will be soaking up the last couple of days on my WoW game card before I take the rest of the year off. And a side order of SMACX and maybe just smidgeon of Civ IV. Old fashioned and boring just the way I like it. And for Christmas I’m getting a better video card so I can play Skyrim but that’s a whole ‘nother story…
There is nothing boring about some of the best games ever made!
